Few whitebait
The whitebait season got away to a poor start in Buller on Saturday, there being no reports of big catches. Some people fishing at the top of the coal wharf took home a few pounds each. The Buller River is still clearing after a fresh last week and fishermen at the Orowaiti and other rivers and streams throughout the district had little to show for their efforts.
