Warning for bend sought
Motorists did not pay much attention to advisory speed signs near comers, said the chairman (Mr E. R. Radcliffe), when the Mount Herbert County Council again discussed a tricky bend on the highway at Allandale. The Automobile Association said it considered the present speed signs were sufficient, but Cr M. D. Radcliffe said that accidents during the last fortnight had proved the association wrong.
He said a “deceptive bend” sign should be put up on the Teddington side of the bend at the foot of the hill at Allandale, and it was decided to ask the association to support the council’s view.
