Successful solo run

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE. | A beaming John Burns ran into Gisborne on Friday, triumphant at conquering the 309-mile solo run he had set himself round the East Coast through the Waioeka Gorge, and elated at the $l4OO the run produced for the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Society. The first man to cover this circuit in a solo running effort. Mr Burns says he would do it again if he had a suitable cause to run for. Despite running through a “tough, howling southerly” and striking unpleasant weather late in the week, he ended the run feeling good and with no muscle stiffness.
