‘No butter’ confirmed

(N.Z Pless Association) WELLINGTON, July 29. The New Zealand Dairy Board has no intention of offering butter for sale on the Australian market, the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Walding) said in a statement. “From the report which I have received from the High Commissioner in Canberra (Mr E. P. Chapman) it is clear that his remarks at a press conference on Thursday were misinterpreted,” Mr Walding said. “Mr Chapman was talking about long-term possibilities and not about the immediate situation. "It is my understanding, and this has been confirmed by the Dairy Board, that it has no intention at present of offering butter for sale in Australia.”
