The International Court of Justice has reaffirmed its interim injunction which, in effect, permits Britain and West Germany to fish within Iceland’s unilaterally-declared 50-mile fishing limit, pending a final decision. By 11 votes to three, the Court has decided to maintain its ruling of August 17, 1972, in which it said that Iceland should refrain from taking any measures against British or West German vesisels to enforce her decision to extend her fishing limits from 12 to 50 miles. Iceland does not recognise 'the Court’s authority in the 'dispute, and has boycotted [its hearings. The Court’s original ruling callea on Britain and West (Germany to limit their annual catch to 170,000 tons and 119,000 tons It also called on all parties to reTrain from exacerbating the Situation.
