Heater causes house fire
tiV.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 12. A fault in an oil space-1 heating system caused a fire which badly damaged a new. farmhouse near Cambridge last night. When the owner, Mr J. Camerson, went to turn the heater on about 10.30 p.m. he noticed something was ’wrong. 1 He and a friend barely had time to leave the house before the kitchen and lounge were in flames. The Cambridge Volunteer iFire Brigade brought the fire under control after half an 'hour, but half the house was destroyed.
