SALES BOOM CONTINUES
The new-car sales boom which started in Britain this year has continued, and new-car sales for the first five months of the year are 8.4 per cent up, to a total of 774,023, it is reported. British Leyland maintained its first place in sales with 245,104, or 31.67 per cent of the market. Ford was second with 23.53 per cent, and Chrysler was third with 10.32 per cent of sales. Vauxhall recorded 8.67 per cent. (
