Films for lepers

Patients al a leper hospital in Piva. Bougainville, in the Solomon Islands, were given a new movie projector for their entertainment, but no films. This was a problem faced bv Sister Mary Michael who works in the hospital, until she contacted the secretary of the Lepers' Trust Board in New Zealand (Mr D. M. Douglas). Mr Douglas was able to obtain several films from the oil companies in New Zealand. and these will be sent in the next few days. “Such films as ‘Birth of an Oilfield’ and a survey of the oil industry in Venezuela are strange fare for Solomonese,” said Mr Douglas, “but are certainly an improvement on what is available to them at present. “Perhaps other organisations may care to make contributions to build up a film library for these people." he said
