Slide maps for police
Slide display and plotting) screens will be installed in) the Christchurch police operations room later this year. The slides—street plans, aerial photographs, charts and buildings—will be projected on to a small screen to give policemen an immediate picture of particular) areas. A transparent sheet can be put on the screen to convert it into a plotting table. Road blocks, for example, could be marked on it during a hunt for prison escapers. Known as random access slide projectors, the slide, display and plotting screens i can show any one of 80; slides at a time. The slides' will be stored in containers! of 80. I The Wellington and Auckland police stations will also •use the units.
