The Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society would be given every opportunity to present its petition and submissions to Parliament on the proposal to use part of (he South Island beech forest. said the chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Lands and Agriculture (the Under-Secretary of Agriculture. Mr Barclay) today.
the committee had made a unanimous decision to grant the society an extension of time to July 17 for it to make its submissions. “This is the second time that the committee has held up its deliberations to accommodate the society, and we are unable to delay beyond |july 17,” said Mr Barclay.
