Press Assn.—Copyright) AKITA (north-east Japan), Objections by local fishermen afraid of radioactive contamination of the sea are i still holding up plans to make a cruising test of Japan’s first ; nuclear-powered ship, the Mutsu (8350 tons). i The Japan Nuclear-powered [Ship Development Corporation intended to have the ship cruise in Mutsu Bay, at the northern end of Honshu, in Aomori prefecture, in the summer of last year, but objections by’ fishermen there postponed the tests for a year.
The corporation has changed the site of the tests !to Noshiro, in Akita Prefecture, in tire Sea of Japan, but the fishermen assert that the tests would affect their catches of mackerel and cuttlefish.
