Bihar Premier resigns

The Premier of the Indian ■state of Bihar (Mr Kedar Pandey) has handed in his iGovernment’s resignation, the Congress Party—the party ped by Mrs Gandhi—having 'voted him out of office. i Bihar is one of several Con-gress-ruled states in which factional party wrangling* have threatened their govern jments. I Mr Pandey, who had been jin office for 15 months, handed his resignation to the state Governor, who has asked him to continue his duties until a successor is found. Mr Pandey was voted out of office by an emergency meeting of the party called by himself to ascertain the support he had.
The state party later unanimously proposed Dr Jagannath Mishra as the new Premier, but informed sources say that he will consult leaders in Delhi before making a decision.
