"The Press’’ Special Service WELLINGTON. Earmarked for a career as a polo pony only two years ago, Celtic Song won his biggest Rrlze to dare when he took the lanawatu Steeples et Awapuni on Saturday. Giving a fine display of leaping, : Celtic bong led all the way to !wln by five lengths from Even Terms, with Mess Time battling on for a fine third. Now a five-year-old, Celtic i Song is raced in partnership by W. Cole and B. Davidson and is trained by Cole at Te Kau-j whata. Celtic Song was placed when! tried as a two-year-old, but even so, he was headed for a career in the polo world. He grew too big to take up polo. He began his career as a chaser last season and If he met little success then, he has more than made up for that. He has four wins and two seconds from 27 starts. .
