CYCLING GIVES FILLIP

B. W. Biddle, who is the Commonwealth Games road cycling champion, and who was fourth in the Olympic Games, will be flown back to New Zealand later this year by the Amateur Cycling Association. On the suggestion of Messrs B. H. Goldsworthy, the coach of the Olympic cycling team, and C. J. Hollows, the manager, the annual general meeting of the association decided to pay Biddle’s return fare.

Biddle, at present riding on the Continent, is expected to accept the offer. It is intended that Biddle compete in the country’s four major tours, the Games trials, and the national championships, giving New Zealand’s other leading road riders much sterner competition than they would get otherwise.
