100,000th member
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 13. The Consumers’ Institute recorded its 1000,000 th member this week. Staff were busy pushing towards an expected level of 115,000 by the end of the year, and the 200,000-mark was clearly in mind, said the institute in a statement today. The chairman of the Consumer Council (Mr G. E. Wood) said the achievement gave him particular satisfaction, as 14 years ago there were many who thought the organisation would not last.
