Some sharp losses on Australian markets
Prices fell among industrial and mining stocks in slow trading on Australian exchanges yesterday. Rises and falls were roughly in balance on the industrial boards, but falls well outnumbered rises among the mining and oil stocks. In the C.R.A. group, Bougainville fell 15c to 290 c and N.B.H.C. dropped 13c to 385 c. C.R.A. was unchanged at 660 c. Hamersley lost 5c at 250 c. Uranium stock Kathleen Investments moved up 4c to 110 c but Queensland Mines was unchanged. Emperor moved up 10c to 265 c and Gold Mines of Kalgoorlie climbed 9c to 174 c. Peko Wallsend, however, fell 20c to 910 c. SYDNEY Sales.—Amal. Chem., 41; Ampol, 78; Ansett, 72; A.W.A., 154; Ass. Sec., 215; A.N.1.. 135; N.S.W., 880; Blue Met., 160; Bramble, 130; Brit.
