$1000 golf clubs theft

(From Out Own Reporter) WESTPORT, June 11

Five, perhaps more, sets of golf clubs, of a total value of more than $lOOO, were stolen from the Westport Golf Club’s premises at Carters Beach during the week-end, a golf club official said yesterday. The police have been notified and investigations are proceeding. It is thought that the clubs have been taken out of the district, and might be sold in other centres. Four golf bags were also taken. The equipment was owned by Messrs R. Intemann (left-hand set), N. Burt, R. J. Smith, M. Leslie and S. Wilson. Mr Intemann’s set, which comprises 14 left-hand aluminium shaft clubs, was valued at $330.
