Club cricket milestones
A number of senior cricketers passed individual milestones in the season which concluded recently. The most notable performance was that of B. C. Irving in going well past 600 wickets; he is second in the post-war list. R. K. Allen, the BurnsideWest wicket-keeper, became the most successful taker of catches and stumpings in the 70-year history of senior cricket in Christa church; and K. Thomson moved up to fourth in the post-war list of heavyscoring batsmen when he took his tally past 6000 runs. The milestones were:— BATTING 1000 runs: K. I. Ferries (1003), G. D. V.
