No call for brigade
(N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. Two young brothers saved their home on Thursday when they put out a fire in the lounge with a watering can — without the aid of the fire brigade. Ina and Bobby Pua, aged 11 and 12, came home from school at noon to find smoke throughout the house. The fire had started beside the fireplace in the lounge. “We were too busy to ring the brigade,” the boys said. The fire destroyed a woodbox and a table, and damaged a wall, the carpet, and the lounge floor. The damage is estimated at $l5O.
