Road toll 360

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 1

To noon today, 360 traffic deaths this year had been reported to the Ministry of Transport At the corresponding time last year, the total was 306. The toll for May was 80, compared with 66 last May. Twenty-three persons have lost their lives on roads in the greater Christchurch area this year compared with 17 to May 31 last year. In the last month, there were 10 road fatalities in the area.
