Five horses were in dose formation behind Distant Blaze a round from home in the Haast Steeplechase at Riccarton on Wednesday; but they were well down the track behind the Wingatui jumper at the end. Almost making a line behind Distant Blaze as they jump the fence are, from left, Calmay (third), Channel Command (second), the fourth horse, Mexicano (grey head showing), Jimmy Donnington, and Mister Fy. Distant Blaze’s winning margin was six lengths.
