(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND. The failure of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation to carry a direct telecast of the English Rugby 'League Cup final at Wembley [last Sunday morning has brought strong criticism from the New Zealand Rugby League council. The deputy-chairman, Mr T. J. Wellsmore, referred to the live telecast of both soccer and Rugby matches from England recently and said that he thought this was an example of discrimination in sport. The telecast had been available at a cost of only $7OOO, he said, and would have been of wide interest in New Zealand.
