He is shown here winning the President’s Handicap at Washdyke with Gay Rose, which beat her stablemate. Speedy Guest (rails) by a nose. Kentucky Hanover finished third, ahead of Ron Hanover (rails) and Shakey Valley. Smolenski also won with Sir Pelver and Jondor Hanover at Washdyke, and Arapaho at Auckland.
