Airlift of cattle
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, May 18.
An Auckland company, Allied World Forwarders, Ltd, today announced plans to ship 4000 head of cattle to Greece in what is described as the biggest airlift of stock to leave New Zealand.
An associated company, Trans International Airlines, is negotiating to charter an American Boeing cargo aircraft for the 20 flights from Auckland. Mr G. Lang, a director of both companies, said New Zealand had been chosen to supply the cattle because of the country’s freedom from significant animal disease.
