“BLIND” DATE
“The Dating Game,” a light-hearted panel contest which was produced in the Christchurch studios of the N.Z.B.C. by lan Cumming, makes its television debut this evening. The compere, John Reid, puts questions to a panel of three people while the guest — a member of the opposite sex — remains hidden from view. Members of the panel gain a point for each answer they give which finds favour with the hidden guest; the contestant who comes closest to the guest’s ideal is the winner. It will be a blind date in the true sense of the phrase. The guest and the winner do not see each other until the end of the programme.
