Money for maraes

HAMILTON, May 20.
Pensioner housing subsidies for local bodies would be extended to include Maori councils and marae committees, said the Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) in Ngaruawahia today. Speaking at the Turangawaewae Marae, Mr Kirk said the extension would be included in the estimates this year. Maori councils and marae committees with suitable land would be able to provide good housing fot their old people, he said.
