Sharp falls by dollar
The New Zealand dollar weakened sharply last week as the U.S. dollar — to which it is pegged — came under severe pressure.
Only two currencies were slightly easier against the dollar: Italian financial lire, and South African rand. Sterling especially continued to make strong gains.
