DECLINE FROM PEAK.—After reaching a record level on Monday the market declined for the rest of the week and closed on Friday with buying interest considerably reduced. The bar chart shows the number of daily rises and falls; rises are represented by shaded bars above the 0-line and falls by solid bars below. Both are measured against the right-hand scale.
