Torque wins main greyhound race
Torque produced her best run of the season when sh led throughout to win the Outhrey Cup, the important puppy class event at the greyhound equalisator meeting at Marshland Domain on Saturday. By finishing fourth in her heat Torque only just qualified for the final, but she started brilliantly and repulsed a determined challenge by the favourite, i Raffle Boy, in the final. i Raffle Boy had a trouble-free run and looked a danger when he attempted to close through on the inside of Torque at the final bend. But although he closed to within half a length. Torque was holding him at bay down the straight. A powerful late run took Ranger Havoc into the third placing just ahead of Red Baron. The winner ran the 440yds in 25.95ee — a very impressive time. The open class race was again won by Kenrick Lady from Cardigan Moss and Jetsam.
