Indoor bowls trophy retained
Canterbury easily retained the A. S. Paterson Trophy when it beat Otago, 39-17, in an indoor bowls fixture at the Kearneys Road hall on Saturday. It was Canterbury’! second defence of the season.
The only new player in the Canterbury team, B. Gray, scored a convincing, 14-1, victory against Mr* K. EUwood in his first singles. The next challenge will be from South Otago on July 7, and the Canterbury selectors (Sirs R. T. Smith, Messrs N. E- Hocking
and H. J. Laek) have made one change, Mrs J. Stewart replacing T. N. Austin. The other players are A. E. Williamson, L. Bellis, L. McLennan, B. Stewart, M. Berkeley, R. watkin, B. Gray. Results of the match with Otago (Canterbury players first) were:—
