At Worcester: Worcestershire 274/8 (R. Headley 132, E. Hemsley 60) beat Oxford University 112, by 162 runs. At Ilkeston: Derbyshire 136/6 (J. Bolus 86) lost to Lancoshlre 158/6, by four wickets. At Leicestershire: Warwickshire 209/9 (R. Abberley 66, A. Kallicharan 54) beat Leicester, shire 196 (T. Duddleston 90), by 12 runs.
At Chelmsford: Surrey 238/8 (J. Edrlch 74, G. Roope 115 not out), Essex 187/6 (T. Francis 73) —rain.
At Hove: Sussex 213/7 (G. Greenidge 56, R. Prideaux 6J', Kent 186/B—bad light. Results of county championship matches which ended on Friday were:— At Headingley: Yorkshire 168 and 259 (J. Hampshire 84), lost to Hampshire 341 and 87/3, by seven wickets.
At Leicester: Sussex 223 and 204/5 (G. Greenidge 83, Jt. Prideaux 51 not out), drew with Leicestershire 399/9 (R. Tolchard 73 not out, B. Duddleston 133), At Edgbaston: Somerset 261 and 194/1 (G. Burgess 114 not out), drew with Warwickshire 494/5 (R. Kanhai 236 not out).
At the Oval: Surrey 360/8 declared and 226/4 declared (J. Edrlch 54, G. Roope 93 not out), lost to Gloucestershire 346/6 declared and 244/2 (Sadiq 116 not out, M.
