Inter-centre meeting

Three members of New Zealand's Commonwealth Games swimming squad returned pleasing times at an inter-centre meeting in the Moana Pool, Dunedin, on Saturday. A 400 metres time of 4mln 16.4 sec by the Olympic finalist, M. Treffers, was only I.4sec outside the qualifying standard for the world swimming championships. Miss J. Parkhouse returned 2min 18.5 sec for 200 metres freestyle, and Miss J. Lowe covered the 200 metres breaststroke in 2min 56.8 sec. Abbreviations used tn results are: Southland (S.l, Otago (O.), Canterbury (C.), Wellington (W.), Wanganui (Wg.). Bay of Plenty (8.P.), Waikato (Wk.).
