F.O.L. seat winner

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Mr S. I. Wheatley, of Hamilton, secretary of the Dairy Workers’ Federation, j won the only seat on the Federation of Labour national’ executive which was not contested by a sitting member. Mr Wheatly gained 217 votes and won his seat on the first ballot. He takes the place of Mr W. Martin, of the Seamen’s Union .who did not stand. The five re-elected members, also chosen on the first ballot, were Messrs E. G. Thomson (438 votes), L. A. Hadley (430), F. B. Thorn (420), W. H. Clement (420), and A. Russ (350). The losing candidates were Messrs K. G. Douglas (178), D. Jacobs (165), N. A. Collins (120), F. E. McNulty (93), and E. H. Soper (24). Mr J. A. Boomer was reelected unopposed as vicepresident of the F.O.L.
