Criticism of Princess
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, May 2.
Princess Anne has been criticised by an animal protection society because of her love of fox hunting. Mr Raymond Rowley, the chairman of the League Against Cruel Sports, said in the league’s annual report: “Towards the end of the last year, the fox-hunting row exploded when it became known that Princess Anne had taken to fox hunting as a duck takes to water.
“While on Christmas Day the Queen appealed for less selfishness and for a reduction in violence, her daughter, for her own selfish interests, continues a leisure activity in which violence, death and suffering are essential ingredients. A more ludicrous situation is hard to imagine.”
