Fab wins easily
“The Press” Special Service INVERCARGILL. Fab, a five-year-old Hundred Proof gelding, from Gala Girl, “Broodmare of the year” two seasons back, won his third successive race when he easjly accounted for the sprinters in the Tanqueray Gin Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Gore Trotting Club’s autumn meeting yesterday. M. A. Skinner had Fab in front from the start and although Debra Charles was on terms with him in the middle stages. Fab dictated an easy pace and over the closing stages had the race to himself. He won easing down by three lengths. Spangled Mary, the only runner to throw out any kind of challenge, held second. Top Brass was third, two lengths and a half away, with a length to Loyal Drift, followed by Star Land. Grand Winter, True Globe, Charliewells and Debra Charles.
