Demands to Lords
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON.
England’s professional cricketers are meeting at Lords to seek a share of earnings from television coverage of matches.
The cricketers want payments similar to those which soccer players receive from television coverage.
They have threatened “surprise action” if their demands are not met by cricket’s heirachy. This could mean players staging lightning strikes, sit down demonstrations and wearing black armbands at televised matches.
