(N.Z. Press Association! WELLINGTON, April 30. The price of cheese in New Zealand will be reduced from tomorrow. The chairman of the Dairy Board (Mr F. L. Onion) said today tljpt most cheese manufacturing companies supplying the local market would offer mild cheddar in 601 b bulk packs at an ex-factory price of about 31c per lb from tomorrow.
This is a fall of 3c per lb, Mr Onion said.
“The price at which dairy companies sell cheese on the local market is related to the export returns received. "The depreciation of sterling and the United States dollar and currency fluctuations elsewhere have resulted in a reduction in the returns 'received for cheese,” said Mr Onion.
