Motor hotel planned

An Australian hotel firm. Courtesy Inns, Ltd, has plans for a 50-room motor hotel, with tourist-house licence and a manager’s flat, on one acre, near Mona Vale.

The site, in the block; bounded by Riccarton Road,! Mona Vale Avenue and Ayr: Street, is zoned residential A in the Riccarton Borough Council’s district scheme, and I residential C in its review scheme. Grove Estates, Ltd, of Christchurch, acting for the owners of the site and Courtesy Inns, has applied to have the land rezoned to permit its use for a licensed hotel. The hotel, if allowed, will be built i by a local firm. Objections to the planning application close on May 28.
