OBITUARY Mr H. Anderson
Mr Henry Carmichael Anderson died at Fairlie recently. He was 65. Born at Ladbrooks, he was educated at St Andrew’s College, Christchurch, where he was a member of the First |XV and First XL After farming at Ladbrooks. Mr Anderson shifted to a mixed cropping enterprise at Lincoln. He was there until 1954, after which he moved to the Fairlie district. Mr Anderson was recognised as an expert in the spheres of cropping and beef production. He served a term on the Mackenzie County Council (1968-71) as a Fairlie Riding representative. He played Rugby for the Waihora Club and Ellesmere sub-union, and belonged to the Tai Tapu Golf Club. Mr Anderson was on the Fairlie Golf Club committee. He was keen on bowls, having represented North and South Canterbury centres. Mr Anderson is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
