Renison hit by unrest
(N.Z P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) ; SYDNEY. Renison, Ltd, reports that in the quarter to March 27, it treated 299,948 tonnes (352,254 last year) of ore, grading 1.45 per cent (1.34) tin, for a yield of 4447 (4945) tonnes of high grade and 3349 (1417) tonnes of low grade concentrates.
Tin metal in concentrates was 3100 (3098) tonnes, and recovery of tin metal in concentrates was 72 per cent (66),
The directors said that production in the year to date has been severely affected by industrial unrest at the company’s Tasmanian mine. They said that the company has not yet been allocated a quota by the International Tin Council for the second control period, from April 1 to June 30.
H. Smith profit fell Howard Smith, Ltd, Australian investment company,; has reported a fall in net profit of 10.5 per cent to $3,829,641 for the year to December 31. An unchanged final dividend of 10c a share (10 per cent), making 15 per cent for the year has been; recommended. [
