When choosing a caravan. select one with adequate space and comfort. rather than picking one just because it is verylight weight.
A caravan is stationary for about 90 per cent of
the time and. as long as it is matched to the capabilities of the towing vehicle, weight is not always of prime importance. But, since the main purpose of a caravan is a mobile home to live in. space and comfort must take high priority. The first caravan that most caravanners buy is too small for their needs and it is wise to check this carefully. If in doubt whether your car can tow the caravan of your choice reference to other caravanners and perhaps a road test will settle this question. The second most important aspect is the type of bed arrangement preferred. With a family caravan, the advisability of single beds for children should be considered rather than trying to fit two into a single bed. This could require a slightly larger caravan. Those who intend using the caravan for only two people have an easier choice.
It is well to bear in mind the fact that caravan double beds are smaller than those at home, so many might choose to have separate beds.
The type of kitchen arrangement is important, and so too is the provision of gas appliances.
Most good caravan sites have electricity and many caravanners use electric fry pans, jugs and toasters. But the convenience of gas on other occasions is well worth considering. Gas refrigerators, for instance, enable food to be kept cold at all times.
