Old tug’s fate
Unless local interests could come up with some scheme fairly soon, the Lyttelton Harbour Board would have to call tenders for disposal of the tug Lyttelton, the chairman (Mr j. Brand) said yesterday. He would like to see the ;tug kept as some sort of marine museum, Mr Brand, said, but the costs involved if the tug remained at Lyttelton appeared prohibitive, particularly if the vessel was to be operational. “She is really going back;”. Captain A. R. Champion saijl. “To put her in anything like order to look at would cost the board more than $1000.”
