Hockey assn officers
Mr R. A. Milne, a member of the New Zealand Hockey Asso j elation’s management committee for 14 years, has been elected jits chairman. Mr Milne had been deputychairman for the last four years to Dr L. McH. Berry. Last week|end, Dr Berry was elected as president of the national association at its annual meeting in I Wellington. The assoication has also appointed a new secretary, Mr J. D. Prentice. Although not connected with hockey. Mr Prentice has a solid administrative back ground and is accountant for a large Christchurch firm. It is the first time since 1902 I that the national secretary has [not been a person closely associated with hockey. The last secretary. Mr J. W. Burtt, who (was also treasurer, had to resign because of personal and business : reasons. The treasurer’s position has been taken by Mr M. R. Good, a former secretary of the association. He was also elected deputy-chairman of the management committee. Two new members have been elected to the management, committee They are Messrs L. Taylor and G. S. Long.
