Traffic plan 'needs talk’
Traffic proposals for the Carlton Mill corner should be discussed more fully before a final decision was made, Dr Helen Hervey, chairman of; ,the Environmental Vanguard Organisation, said yesterday. All interested parties should have time to consider the plan put forward recently by the City Engineer (Mr P. G. Scoular). The policy group of her! organisation had discussed I both plans for the corner, she * said. It considered that the: widening of Park Terrace by! taking about 12ft of rhe ; riverbank was undesirable' environmentally. Widening would also encourage more| traffic to the terrace, and again this would adversely! affect the environment.
