MAINLY STEADY PRICES ON BUSIER N.Z. MARKETS
A wide range of stocks traded at steady prices on busier NewZealand stock exchanges yesterday. However, a few of the leaders recovered some of last week’s losses and the index firmed.
South British Insurance' rose in more active trading. The shares were 9c higher at 462 c in Auckland by the end! of the day’s trading. New Zealand Insurance rose 2c more to 372 c. N.Z. Forest Products recovered a net 3c to 381 c after selling at 382 c in earlier trading. Alex Harvey, D.1.C., National Insurance, R. and W. Hellaby, and Vibrapac were among the 5c rises.
:| Dominion Breweries recov- . | ered 3c in a string of sales ;|in Auckland. The last sale I-was made at 151 c. j N.Z. Breweries was steady >i at 171 c in quite active trad- ■ ing, and L. D. Nathan was un- ■ I changed at 182 c. •i NMA Wright Stephenson -jeased 1c to 180 c, but Dalget.y [N.Z. was steady at 235 c, and ■(Mair firmed 3c to 195 c. lat 141 c, as was Carter Holt at 290 c. Golden Bay at 168 c, i Fletcher Holdings 'at 235 c, and Neil Holdings at 210 c. Ibut Winstone eased 1c to 203 c. The radio and television manufacturers were traded in II small parcels at firm prices. I Atlas was 1c higher at 96c. Hand Tee Vee rose 5c to 350 c.
