Companies Act final report

WELLINGTON, April 2. I The Minister of Justice (Dr Finlay) has received the final report of the Special Companies Act Committee from the chairman (Mr Justice' Macarthur). The committee' was established in 1968 to I : consider the need for changes in the Companies Act. The committee presented an interim report last year | on the administration of the! act. A number of the recommendations in that report - are given effect in the Com panies Amendment Bill recently introduced to Parliament. Others have been implemented administratively with the setting up of a separate commercial affairs division in the Justice Department. Dr Finlay said today that the report was a full and painstaking review of all as- ' pects of company . law andi would be carefully consid - ered by the Government.
As soon as copies were! printed it would be tableoin Parliament and released to the public.
