Mr Freer said after a meeting of Cabinet earlier today, that the group would be given until 5 p.m. tomorrow to give an answer to its proposals. The chairman of the con- ! sortium (Mr D. H. Whether the consortium would be able to give the Government an answer tomorrow would depend on the calculations, he said. He said Mr Freer's comments earlier today could not be regarded as an ultimatum to the corporation. Mr Tudhope said the consortium had been working to the 5 p.m. deadline since ’he proposals were announced weeks ago. It was originally' to have been today, but. being Cabinet day, Mr Freer had decided it was not a good day for long talks.
