W. J. Godfrey, of New Zealand, the leader after two rounds, failed to maintain his form and finished well down the field, in the Thai open golf championship yesterday. His last two rounds were 77 and 76, after he started with 71 and 70.

Godfrey’s total of 294 was eight strokes behind the winner, G. V. Marsh, of Australia, whose rounds were 75, 73. 66, 72, for 286. B. Arda (Philippines) and M. Kono (Japan) shared second place on 288. Marsh also won the India open tournament last week.
