The North Island polo team 1 took full advantage of its] opportunities and convincingly beat Ashburton, 6-1, in the main match of the Ashley and Amuri clubs’ three-day tournament which began at Rangiora yesterday. An indication of the playing strength of the North Island team —which represents the Central Districts region—was the brilliant, 60yard angled goal scored by the captain, D. Nelson. Results were:— Open grade.—North Island 6, Ashburton 1; Amuri A 11, Geraldine A 4. Junior grade.—Ashley B 7, Geraldine B 2A; Blenheim 9|, Amuri B 9. The photograph shows P.
