An equipment display and, athletics meeting at Burnham | Military Camp on Sunday! afternoon will be the show- ( (case for the first intake of! (Territorial Force volunteers (to have completed their 12 (weeks basic training. Their’s is the first group to have passed through Burn>ham since the abolition of compulsory military training, 56 of the group having completed the course. Eighty volunteers began it. Friends and families of the; men will be invited to t he afternoon, which will include competitions between the volunteers and training staff. Director retires The Press Association, at (its annual meeting in J Rotorua, expressed thanks ( ■and appreciation to Mr A. R. Cant, the editor of “The: Press,” who retired from the board of directors after 17 years, during which he served. !as president for two terms.' !- (PA.)
